more about me

Let’s talk, friend.

If you’ve caught yourself saying things like:

  • “I’ll start after the holidays.”
  • “January will be my reset.”
  • “I just need a little more clarity first.”

I need you to know something before we go any further:

You’re not lazy.
You’re not flaky.
And you’re not failing at follow-through.

You’re just stuck in a very sneaky waiting loop that looks responsible on the outside… but quietly keeps you right where you are.

And once you see it?
You won’t be able to unsee it.

TRUTH #1: Waiting feels safer.

Most people think they’re waiting because they need:

  • more time
  • more confidence
  • more money
  • more clarity
  • more energy

But let’s be honest for a second.

If clarity magically showed up before action, none of us would ever feel stuck.

The real reason you’re waiting is this:

Waiting feels safer than starting.

Because starting means:

  • risking disappointment
  • letting people see you try
  • admitting you actually want more
  • finding out if the fear was right

Waiting lets you stay hopeful without being vulnerable.
It feels productive. It feels mature. It feels like “planning.”

But here’s the GRIT truth wrapped in love:

Waiting isn’t neutral. It quietly builds pressure.

And pressure is heavy to carry into January.

TRUTH #2: January isn’t a reset button.

January gets marketed like a magical reset button.

New year.
New planner.
New motivation.
New you.

But what usually happens?

January shows up…
And the same doubts come with it.
The same busy schedule.
The same “I should’ve started earlier” feeling.

Because confidence doesn’t reset with the calendar.
Habits don’t magically upgrade overnight.
Momentum doesn’t appear just because the year changed.

So if January has ever felt heavier than expected, it’s not because you failed.

It’s because you carried the same pattern into a new month and expected a different result.

Harsh? Maybe.
Helpful? Absolutely.

TRUTH #3: You’re stuck in a waiting loop.

Here’s what this cycle usually looks like:

1️⃣ You feel the pull to start
2️⃣ You tell yourself “soon”
3️⃣ Life stays busy (because of course it does)
4️⃣ Guilt quietly sneaks in
5️⃣ You promise yourself next month will be different

Rinse. Repeat.

This isn’t a motivation problem.
This isn’t a discipline problem.

It’s a permission problem.

You’re waiting for a moment where:

  • life slows down
  • you feel 100% ready
  • the fear disappears

Spoiler alert, bestie:
That moment does not RSVP.

TRUTH #4: Momentum starts before January.

Here’s the good news:
You don’t need a dramatic overhaul to change everything.

You don’t need:

  • a 20-step business plan
  • a perfect niche
  • a rebrand
  • or hours of free time

You need one intentional interruption.

One small decision that moves you from thinking about it to building it.

Here’s how to do that — GRIT-style:

1️⃣ Start Messy on Purpose

Waiting for confidence is backwards.
Confidence shows up after you move.

Messy action builds clarity.
Waiting builds pressure.

Pick a move so small your brain can’t argue with it — and do it anyway.

2️⃣ Stop Treating January Like a Finish Line

January isn’t the moment everything changes.
It’s the moment momentum shows upif you built it first.

Even tiny steps now make January lighter, not scarier.

3️⃣ Choose Progress You Can Repeat

The goal isn’t intensity.
The goal is sustainability.

If it doesn’t fit your real life, it won’t last — and that’s not a failure, it’s feedback.

Your Reminder for Today (read this twice!)

You don’t need to become a different person to build something meaningful.

You don’t need permission.
You don’t need perfect conditions.
And you definitely don’t need January.

You’re allowed to start quietly.
You’re allowed to start scared.
You’re allowed to start now.

And no — starting small doesn’t mean you’re thinking small.

It means you’re building something that actually lasts.
