more about me

Spoiler alert: It’s not always cute Canva graphics and passive income. But it is absolutely worth it.

Okay, friend. Real talk?

When I first started my side hustle, I thought it would be smooth sailing. I imagined perfectly color-coded planners, cute iced coffee vibes, and money rolling in while I checked emails in my robe.

But the truth?
Starting a side hustle is more like building IKEA furniture blindfolded—there’s a lot of guessing, some mild panic, and maybe a few tears before you get to the good part.

So here’s what no one really tells you about getting started… and why none of it should stop you.

You Won’t Feel “Ready”… and That’s Normal

If you’re waiting for a magical moment where the stars align and you suddenly feel like Beyoncé-level confident about launching your business—spoiler: it’s not coming.

There’s no certificate that says “You are now officially ready to be an entrepreneur.” Most of us start with a dream, a Google Doc, and a whole lot of second-guessing.

I didn’t feel ready when I launched my first digital product. I was nervous, unsure, and completely winging it. But showing up before I felt ready? That’s what made the difference.
You grow into it. One step at a time.

Your Time Will Feel Stretched…but It’s Still Possible

Listen—I was working a demanding full-time job, dealing with mountains of family responsibilities, managing a household, and trying to figure out how to turn this little idea in my head into something real.

There were nights I was answering emails with one hand, heating up leftovers with the other, and wondering if chaos counts as cardio.

You don’t need to carve out five extra hours a day. You need pockets of focused time and a plan. That’s it.
15 minutes to outline your course.
20 minutes to create a freebie.
30 minutes to write that email.

It adds up. It really does.
The key isn’t doing more, it’s doing the right things with the time you’ve got.

You’ll Second Guess Yourself… Often

There’s this moment—usually around the time you’re about to hit “publish” on your first product—when your brain becomes your worst hype girl.

It whispers things like:
💭 “No one’s going to buy this.”
💭 “You’re not qualified.”
💭 “Maybe just wait until everything’s perfect.”

Spoiler: That voice? Totally normal. Totally wrong.
You don’t have to be fearless to build a business. You just have to take action anyway.
Confidence doesn’t come first—it’s something you build through doing the thing scared.

You Don’t Need a Million Followers

Raise your hand if you’ve ever delayed launching because your Instagram didn’t look “aesthetic enough.”

Been there. But let me tell you: you do not need a huge audience to make your first sale.

What you need is an offer that helps people solve a problem—and a way to talk about it clearly.
That’s it.

I’ve seen students start making sales with 30 followers. Why? Because they were focused on connection, not perfection.
You can build a small but mighty community that trusts you. And that’s where the magic (and the money) comes from.

You Are Not Supposed To Do This Alone

This one might be the most important.

We live in a hustle culture that glamorizes “figuring it out yourself.” But the truth is… trying to build a business in a vacuum is exhausting.

I spent months trying to YouTube and Google my way to clarity—until I finally got in the right room. I invested in mentorship. I found a community of women who were doing the same thing. And suddenly, I wasn’t just growing—I was thriving.

When you surround yourself with people who get it, it’s easier to keep going on the days when everything feels hard.

So…Why Even Do It?

Because even though it’s messy and unpredictable and full of learning curves…

👉 It’s also empowering.
👉 It gives you freedom.
👉 It changes the way you see yourself.

Starting my side hustle didn’t just help me make extra money.
It gave me my spark back.
It reminded me what I was capable of.
And it showed me that I didn’t have to settle for burnout and “maybe someday” dreams.
